Mary Kathryn Cancilliere, PhD

Research Scientist

Mary Kathryn Cancilliere is a research scientist at Bradley Hospital and a pediatric psychologist who specializes in injury prevention by way of youth psychiatric risk, youth access to community-based mental health care, caregivers of at-risk youth, and pediatric anxiety and anxiety-like disorders.

Dr. Cancilliere’s research focuses on creating and testing interventions and prevention approaches for young people experiencing acute psychiatric crises, including suicidal and non-suicidal self-injury, as well as supporting their families. Using qualitative and mixed-methods research, her work applies implementation strategies and integrates digital health tools to enhance care in the Pediatric Emergency Department.

She earned a doctorate degree at the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Cancilliere completed a clinical psychology residency with a focus on pediatric psychology at the Yale School of Medicine Child Study Center and a pediatric psychology fellowship and a research fellowship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
