Mi Gente Professional Team
Our trained and certified staff has a personal understanding of the Latinx/Hispanic culture and is uniquely qualified to integrate mental health services that are tailored to this community.
Yovanska Duarte-Velez, PhD, a bilingual clinical psychologist with extensive expertise in treating Latinx/Hispanic youth and families, serves as clinical director of the Mi Gente program. She has well-established connections to Latinx/Hispanic community organizations.
Gisela Jimenez-Colon, PhD, also serves as a bilingual clinical psychologist at the Program. She has ample training and experience working with youth and their families who have been through traumatic events.
Michelle Aiello, PhD, is a licensed counseling psychologist who provides bilingual services in the Mi Gente Program. She is trained to work with adolescents, young adults, and families.
Sarah Joelson, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist who specializes in working with youth and families. She is one of the clinicians in the Mi Gente Program and is passionate about serving this population. Currently, she primarily works with English-speaking adolescents and families.
