“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.
Michael D. Gomez, PhD
Psychologist
Michael Gomez, PhD, is a psychologist with Bradley Hospital Outpatient Services. He earned both his master of arts and doctor of philosophy degrees in clinical child psychology from the University of Kansas. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in child abuse and neglect at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Gomez previously served as director of the Adversity and Resilience Community Center in Texas and as director of clinical services for the Center for Superheroes at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Gomez provides services for the Bradley Wave Clinic, mindful teen group, crisis clinic, and general outpatient clinic. He is a nationally certified therapist in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT); treatment of adolescents with problematic sexual behaviors (PSB-CBT adolescent model); parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT); and the trauma affect regulation guide for education and therapy (TARGET) treatment model. He is nationally certified as a trainer in TF-CBT, the components for enhancing clinician experience and reducing trauma (CE-CERT) model for secondary trauma and burnout, and the PSB-CBT adolescent model.
Dr. Gomez is one of three co-chairs for the National Child Traumatic Stress Networks Trauma and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Workgroup and a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.
