Justyna Piasecka, MD

Chief, Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities Inpatient Unit

Justyna Piasecka, MD is the chief of the inpatient unit at the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, where she has worked since 2017. In addition, she is a board-certified adult, adolescent, and child psychiatrist and serves as a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Piasecka is dedicated to supporting children with autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities, along with their families.

She earned her medical degree at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Piasecka completed a combined residency, fellowship, and research program in integrated adult and child adolescent psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center in New Haven, Connecticut, where she was a chief resident from 2015 to 2016. Her clinical training includes cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety in autism, anger, and aggression in youth, autism diagnostic evaluations using the ADOS and ADI-R tools, and parent management training.

Board-certified in both psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Piasecka has contributed to the field through peer-reviewed journal articles and a book chapter on emotion regulation and anger management in Tourette Syndrome. She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
