Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Julie Boergers, PhD
Co-Director, Pediatric Sleep Disorders Clinic
Julie Boergers is the co-director of the Pediatric Sleep Disorders Clinic and a staff psychologist who specializes in integrated behavioral health approaches for pediatric medical problems. She also is the co-director of the Psychology Liaison Program for Pediatric Oncology and a member of the feeding team in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology.
In addition, she is a clinical professor of psychiatry and human behavior and a clinical professor of pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where she received the university’s Teaching Recognition Award for her outstanding clinical and research training of residents and fellows in psychology, psychiatry, and pediatrics.
Dr. Boergers conducts research on childhood sleep disorders, pediatric chronic illnesses (including asthma), and adolescent health behaviors. She has a longstanding research and clinical focus on cultural influences on sleep, sleep patterns in children with chronic illness, and the effect of childhood sleep disruption on family, academic, and immune functioning.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rochester with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She earned her master's and doctorate in child clinical psychology from the University of Denver. She completed an internship in child clinical/pediatric psychology at the Children's National Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric psychology at Brown Medical School before joining the faculty in 1998.
