Jennifer A. Herren, PhD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Jennifer Herren is a staff psychologist and the associate director of the Pediatric Anxiety Research Center (PARC). She is also an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Herren earned her doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Judge Baker Children's Center and Harvard University.

Her clinical expertise is in the treatment of pediatric OCD and anxiety using exposure therapy. 

Dr. Herren's research focuses on the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices for youth with an emphasis on exposure-based treatments for OCD and anxiety. Her work centers on improving therapist training and optimizing service delivery models to enhance clinical outcomes and expand access to care.

At PARC, she has played a key role in developing an exposure-based training curriculum used in multiple randomized clinical trials. She also contributed to the creation and testing of an innovative outpatient service line at PARC, which uses a team-based intervention model to deliver treatment in homes and community settings. This model is currently being tested as part of ongoing research to investigate how delivery modality influences treatment outcomes in community-based care.
