Elizabeth McQuaid, PhD

Director of Child Psychology, Hasbro Children's

Elizabeth McQuaid, PhD, ABPP, is the director of child psychology at Hasbro Children's. In addition, she is the vice chair of academic affairs, a professor of psychiatry and human behavior, a professor of pediatrics, and the director of the Division of Clinical Psychology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. McQuaid conducts her research and clinical activities at Hasbro Children's/ Rhode Island Hospital.  Her work focuses on pediatric disease management and adherence to medical regimens in the context of health disparities, with an emphasis on allergic conditions including asthma and food allergies.  Dr. McQuaid has been continuously funded by the NIH since 1998.

She earned a doctoral degree in child clinical psychology from the University of Denver. Dr. McQuaid completed a child clinical/pediatric psychology internship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at the Brown Clinical Psychology Training Consortium. 

She is a member of the Society for Pediatric Psychology, the American Psychological Association, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the International Society for the Advancement of Respiratory Psychophysiology.
