Stephanie Parade, PhD

Director of Early Childhood Research, Bradley/Hasbro Children’s Research Center

Stephanie Parade, PhD, is the director of early childhood research at Bradley/Hasbro Children’s Research Center and an associate professor of psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

She earned master’s and doctorate degrees in human development and family studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in developmental psychopathology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. 

Dr. Parade conducts research focused on the biological and behavioral mechanisms through which childhood stress and trauma impact mental and physical health. Her research also focuses on the implementation and evaluation of community-based interventions to promote maternal and child health and prevent child maltreatment and family violence. The majority of this work is focused on infants and young children, as well as families in the prenatal and postpartum periods.

She is a member of the Society for Research in Child Development and the International Society on Infant Studies.
