Jennifer A. Poon, PhD. is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech, attained a Masters in experimental psychology from The College of William and Mary, and completed her doctoral work in clinical psychology (neuroscience concentration) from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Her research leverages multiple methods (e.g., self-report, behavioral observation, cortisol, fMRI, EMA) to investigate mechanisms underlying adolescents’ psychological functioning, including high-risk behaviors such as suicide and NSSI. She completed a Postdoctoral Clinical Fellowship in Adolescent Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Alpert Medical School of Brown University from 2019-2021. Jennifer also completed a Postdoctoral NRSA/F32 NIMH Research Fellowship, Alpert Medical School of Brown University from 2021-2023.
