Teen Anxiety Group (T.A.G.)

Anxiety management group for teens

Teens and parents are invited to participate in a weekly anxiety management group. During each session, teens will participate in an interactive lesson and practice activities based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) strategies for managing anxiety. Parents will meet separately to discuss strategies to encourage and support teens to practice cognitive behavioral strategies outside of the group sessions. Groups will meet weekly for 10 weeks.

Registration is open year round. New groups start every three months. Groups will be filled on a first come, first served basis and teens will be matched according to age and level of need.

Teen Group Leader: Anna Villavicenio, PhD, is a counseling psychologist with a specialization in anxiety disorders and child psychology.

Parent Group Leader: Angela Stewart, PhD is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior with the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University who specializes in child psychology.

Cost: A $25 material fee for each teen is required. Insurance will be billed for group therapy. Co-payment will depend on insurance.
